Telmo Faria is the owner and Chef of the restaurant Uma Casa, the only Portuguese restaurant in San Francisco. Telmo told us how his business has adapted to the new COVID-19 limitations and still helps the most disadvantaged.
Since its opening in 2017, the restaurant Uma Casa has enjoyed great success: it received a visit from the Portuguese Prime-Minister and even a reference in the Michelin Guide. With orders to stay at home in San Francisco, Telmo explained to us how he adapted the operations of the restaurant to keep the jobs of his workers (especially those in a more delicate financial situation). At the same time, Uma Casa is helping the community by offering meals to the most vulnerable and to health professionals.
