FLAD launches essay contest for young Portuguese-Americans within the scope of the 250th anniversary of the Independence of the USA

Applications run until September 20 and challenge young US citizens of Portuguese descent to reflect on the relationship between Portugal and the United States.

FLAD distinguishes young authors in the POV – Point of View 2026 contest

Launched in February, the competition sought to learn about the perspectives of new generations on the American Revolution and its influence on contemporary political reality, while encouraging interest in the study of the US and transatlantic relations.

Atlantic Celebration Day Celebrates the Portugal-U.S. Friendship in New Bedford

On Sunday, July 19, the Bronspiegel Auditorium in New Bedford will host Atlantic Celebration Day, a unique event celebrating the enduring friendship between Portugal and the United States and the vibrant Portuguese-American community that continues to strengthen the ties between the two countries.
