The California State University, Fresno has been a longtime partner to get to know the vast and pro-active Portuguese-American community residing in the Golden State.
Over the years we have worked together on several initiatives crucial to the preservation of Portuguese heritage in California. One of the most recent projects included the creation of the Portuguese Beyond Borders Institute, as well as the exchange of students with the University of the Azores.
Down below you can find a video by Fresno State’s President, Joseph I. Castro, on the importance of Portuguese culture especially in the State of California, the new initiatives put in place during the pandemic, and the growing relationship between FLAD and the Californian University.
