And as it is Monday we have another newsletter of the Special American Elections, by Observador. This week we talk about the importance of the Vice President for the elections and the U.S. government.
The growing importance of the Vice President position in U.S. policy is evident. A trend started by Jimmy Carter, who gave important portfolios to his number two, Walter Mondale, with emphasis on foreign policy. But until then, the story was different, many are the cases of men who went through that office and who did not have nice things to say about it. The truth is that 1 in 3 Vice Presidents have reached the U.S. Presidency, that’s 14 of the 45 men (and never women at least for now, but Kamala Harris may change the game).
