Applications for the 2020 edition of the FLAD-AiR 351 grant are now open.

Founded by Professor Luís Campos e Cunha and by the researcher and curator Luísa Especial, the AIR 351 project is an international and independent program of artistic residencies in the visual arts sector located in Cascais.

The Residencies AiR 351 presents as a great strategic pillar the creation and proliferation of an international network of work that allows the movement of artists and curators. FLAD’s support for the residencies AiR 351 focuses precisely on the relationship with the U.S., in order to streamline a dynamic of exchange between North-American and Portuguese artists and curators.

Consequently, FLAD and AiR 351 award two grants, fully funded by FLAD, so that North-American artists have the possibility to participate for 4 months in the AiR 351 residencies, with the start date planned for March 2020.

The FLAD/AiR 351 grant offers a monthly allowance of 1150 euros.

The program also provides:

  • Access to an individual studio and to the common spaces at the headquarters of AiR 351;
  • It involves the grant holders with the general activities of the AiR 351 program and with the local artistic community;
  • Ensures technical assistance and curatorship services;
  • Includes the participants on the AiR 351 partner networks;
  • Includes studio visits and public presentations.

The application period ends on the 20th of January of 2020.
