Applications for a new edition of the FLAD Drawing Award are open between April 2nd and May 9th. FLAD will award 20 thousand euros to the best that is done in the area of design in Portugal. The winner will be announced during the Drawing Room Lisboa, which takes place from 23 to 27 October.

Every year, the FLAD Drawing Award has received hundreds of applications from artists all over the country. The works of artists Pedro Tropa, Maria Capelo and Carla Filipe have already been awarded. This year, FLAD continues the path of recognizing artistic talent in Portugal and supporting promising artists in our country with a new edition of the Award with applications open between April 2nd and May 9th.

According to Mónica Alvarez Careaga, Director of Drawing Room Lisboa: “The FLAD Drawing – Drawing Room award is a powerful initiative that highlights the most diverse drawing practices carried out by Portuguese artists or those living in Portugal, without forgetting its hybrid and theoretical aspect. In addition, the exhibition that follows the selection of 10 finalist artists at Drawing Room Lisboa is an extraordinary means of discovery among the public and also a proof of validation of contemporary drawing, which we are very proud of.”

This open call will be developed in two phases.
