It is with great pride that FLAD received, in June of 2019, Western Michigan University, Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics,  ISCTE Business School, NOVA University of Lisboa  and ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics & Management, for a meeting to sign the protocol that will allow the exchange of students between Western Michigan University and the four Portuguese universities.

This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the support of SiPN (Study in Portugal Network), since its inception in 2014, it has created academic opportunities for both sides of the Atlantic. Their efforts were essential for Western Michigan University to decide to establish its first Global Hub in Europe.

The protocol allows exchanges of one semester between Portuguese students of management colleges of the four Portuguese partner universities of SiPN, and American students from Western Michigan University. In the future, there is also the intention to extend the protocol to other colleges of the four universities in Lisbon, allowing students from other areas of research to benefit from this exchange.

Establishing protocols like this is a great example of the work conducted by SiPN and FLAD, both with efforts aimed at creating educational opportunities that cross the Atlantic and to help Portugal to be on the radar as an academic destination, as well as, to increase the internationalization of the Portuguese higher education system.
