State Senator || Senator Lopes is a member of the Connecticut General Assembly, where he represents District 6, covering New Britain, Berlin, and part of Farmington. Upon taking office in January 2021, Rick Lopes became the only Portuguese-American Senator in Connecticut. Prior to that, Rick was a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives, where he represented District 24 for 10 years. The son of Portuguese immigrants from Mira de Aire, Rick Lopes is a small business owner who began his political career, in 2003, at the New Britain City Council.
