The Portuguese Lua Afonso was distinguished in the United States with the Anita Gale Visionary Leadership Award, one of the most important international awards in the area of space leadership, awarded within the scope of the International Space Settlement Design Competition (ISSDC).

FLAD supported Lua Afonso’s participation in ISSDC, an international competition that brings together young talents from around the world to develop innovative solutions to the challenges of space exploration and habitation.

This international recognition marks another milestone in the path of the young Portuguese woman and reinforces the importance of supporting national talent in contexts of excellence and international collaboration.
