FLAD supports two Summer Schools that will take place on the islands of Santa Maria and Terceira, in the Azores, in July. The Foundation will fund individual scholarships to PhD students from Mainland Portugal and the United States, which will cover airfares and accommodation throughout the period of the Summer School.

In order to contribute to the permanent updating of knowledge and the development of science in the Azores, as well as contacts and exchanges of experiences between specialists from various scientific institutions and different regions, with a special focus on specialists with links to the United States of America, FLAD supports two intensive summer courses that take place during the month of July on Terceira Island and the Island of Santa Maria.

These two courses will contribute to advance knowledge in areas of interest relevant to the Autonomous Region of the Azores, and are supported by the Regional Government.
