Following the various support already made available by the Foundation for the promotion of research on Portuguese Language and Culture, FLAD launches this Friday the new FLAD Portuguese Arquivos Portuguese Scholarships, which aim to strengthen the promotion and accessibility to research in archives and libraries in Portugal.

The scholarships are open to teachers and researchers, linked to higher education and research institutions in the USA, who intend to develop face-to-face research in Portuguese collections, regardless of their location and size in Portugal (mainland and islands).

The new scholarship program aims to reinforce FLAD’s commitment to the promotion, research and dissemination of documentation and its existing contents in local, municipal, ministerial and other collections in Portugal (mainland and islands), diversifying flad opportunities already existing, such as short-term research competitions with DGLAB – Torre do Tombo and the National Library of Portugal.
