Field Niggas reinvents the observational documentary; it comprises mostly nocturnal interviews and discussions with people, on a notorious Harlem street corner in NYC. Its subjects are predominantly African Americans experiencing poverty, homelessness, drug addiction, physical ailments and harassment from the police; people with “a hunger to have their voices heard”. An intimate movie with a rare poetic grandeur.
