'O Burro e o Elefante': FLAD and Expresso new podcast about US elections

‘O Burro e o Elefante’ is FLAD’s new podcast, in partnership with Expresso, which will cover American politics up to the Presidential elections on November 5th. Pedro Magalhães and João Maria Jonet will be the hosts, with guest appearences every week.

FLAD’s new podcast, in partnership with Expresso, dedicated to American politics will be live on Wednesday, September 18th. ‘O Burro e o Elefante’, hosted by Pedro Magalhães and João Maria Jonet, will discuss the state of the presidential race until election day, November 5th.

Every Wednesday, with new guests, this podcast aims to analyze a structural issue and debate the forces behind the great political transformations that we are witnessing in the USA. ,

The first episode will air on September 18 on the platforms where podcasts are usually listened to.

About the authors

Pedro Magalhães

Coordinating Researcher at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon, where he studies and teaches about elections, public opinion and opinion polls. He was a visiting professor at FLAD at Georgetown University in the academic year 2011/2012.

João Maria Jonet

Interested in politics from a very young age, launched his first blog on this topic in 2016, to cover the polarizing American elections. The interest in communication acquired with this experience led him to create the page “O Parágrafo”. Since 2020 he has worked with several political actors. He is Secretary-General of the Platform for Sustainable Growth and commentator on SIC Notícias.
