State Senator || Michael J. Rodrigues is a member of the Massachusetts State Senate, representing the 1st Bristol and Plymouth District. Senator Rodrigues is Chair of the Senate Committee on Ways and Means. He was first elected to the Massachusetts Senate in 2010. Before that, Michael served 14 years in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Michael is a third-generation Portuguese-American. His Portuguese ancestors come from Beira Alta and Lisbon. Among other notable initiatives, Michael J. Rodrigues helped establish the Azorean Jewish Heritage Foundation to restore the oldest post-Inquisition Synagogue in Portugal.
