The American writer Katie Kitamura will be at the Luso-American Development Foundation on May 7, at 6:30 pm, for a conversation integrated in the Meet the Author cycle, which promotes the meeting between American authors and the Portuguese public.

Born in California in 1979, Katie Kitamura is the author of a body of work marked by psychological intensity and the exploration of the dynamics of intimacy, language and identity. A graduate of Princeton University and a PhD from the London Consortium, she teaches creative writing at New York University and regularly collaborates with publications such as The New York Times, The Guardian and Granta.

Among his most recognized books are A Separation and Intimacies, novels widely acclaimed by critics and translated in several countries. His most recent book, Audition (published in Portugal by Alfaguara), reaffirms his interest in characters in situations of tension and ambiguity, exploring the limits between representation, identity and truth.

Katie Kitamura will be talking about her new book and other work with journalist Isabel Lucas, on May 7, at 6:30 pm, at the FLAD Auditorium, at Rua do Sacramento à Lapa, 21, in Lisbon.
