Writing the book ‘The Netanyahu Family’ is not the same as writing about the Netanyahu family, but at the same time it is writing about a real episode, without practically mentioning the elephant in the room, the most well-known of the family members, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In this mix, where what is real and what is fiction merge to tell a minor episode in history, but from which the entire Jewish experience is traced, Joshua Cohen created a Pulitzer Prize-winning work (2022).
The writer, who shares his time between fiction and journalism, between New York and Israel, took a break from this whirlwind to talk to Portuguese readers at FLAD, in another edition of Meet the Author – Meetings with American Writers. See the full conversation here:
The conversation with Joshua Cohen took place on June 25, in the FLAD auditorium, in Lisbon. This is an initiative of FLAD, in partnership with PÚBLICO. The conversations are moderated by journalist Isabel Lucas.
All Meet the Author sessions are free.
