José Manuel Durão Barroso, in his capacity as President of the Luso-American Development Foundation (FLAD) and Chairman of the Board of the General Assembly of the Portuguese Diaspora Council, was received by Ambassador Maria de Fátima Jardim, Executive Secretary of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), on April 7, 2026, at the organization’s headquarters.

The meeting, of an institutional nature, focused on strengthening the dynamics of the diasporas of the CPLP countries, with a special focus on the participation of young people. The importance of valuing the potential of Portuguese-speaking communities around the world was highlighted, as promoters of the Portuguese language and of historical and cultural ties between Member States.

At the end of the visit, the President of FLAD registered his passage through the signing of the CPLP Book of Honor.
