State Representative || Alan Silvia is a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives. In 2020, he was elected to a fifth term representing the 7th Bristol District, in Fall River. Representative Silvia is Vice-Chair of the Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security, and also sits in the House Ways and Means Committee. Prior to that, Alan Silvia worked for 22 years as a Police Officer in the city of Fall River. Police Investigator in the sexual abuse unit, he also worked for 19 years as a Detective in the major crime division. Alan Silvia is a lifelong resident of Fall River, with Portuguese roots tracing back to São Miguel, in the Azores. From Lagoa on his father’s side and from Furnas on his mother’s side.
