FLAD launches this Friday another open call for young artists, continuing a path of support to Art and Culture in Portugal, and of artists in our country. Applications for the Scholarships for Artistic Residencies in the USA 2022 are open until December 15.
The Scholarships for Artistic Residencies in the USA 2022 are an excellent opportunity for young artists to develop their work in quality U.S. institutions.
Artists of Portuguese nationality, or foreign artists residing in Portugal for more than five years, may apply. The artistic residencies will be held in the USA, up to a maximum of 3 months, through the presentation of a project by the candidates, in the areas of photography, jazz, literature and visual arts.
Support:
- Up to a maximum of 1200 euros/week
- Support extends up to three months at most.
Applications
Individual applications will be accepted according to the following requirements:
- Have Portuguese nationality or be resident in Portugal for more than 5 years;
- Have artistic and/or academic CV in the aforementioned areas;
- Age between 25 and 35 years;
- Present plan for the period of artistic residency;
- Submit a letter of recommendation;
- Present letter of acceptance of the American institution where you will develop the artistic residency;
- Submit a budget, discriminating the costs and sources of funding to which you have competed or will compete for your stay in the USA.
- Master the English language;
The application must be submitted through the online application system.
Deadlines:
• Deadlines for submission of applications until December 15, 2021
• Results will be known by January 15, 2022
