Before the summer break, FLAD is hosting another of today’s most important writers, Valeria Luiselli, for a chat with Portuguese readers as part of Meet the Author – Encounters with American Writers. The author will be at FLAD on June 27, at 6:30pm.
Valeria Luiselli, author of Lost Children Archive (Deserto Sonoro, published in Portugal by Bazarov) and Faces in the Crowd (Bertrand), was born in Mexico City in 1983. Her first book, a collection of essays titled Papeles Falsos, was published in 2010. She writes regularly for magazines and newspapers, such as Letras Libres and the New York Times. He also wrote librettos for ballet, for the New York City Ballet Company.


The writer is the recipient of several awards, including a MacArthur Fellowship – one of the most prestigious grants for artists – and winner of the DUBLIN literary award. She will be in FLAD’s auditorium on June 27, at 6:30pm.
