On October 12, FLAD holds the FLAD Science Award Atlantic 2021 award session in our auditorium. In this event, this year’s award winner, Renato Mendes, researcher at CoLAB +Atlantic, will make a presentation of his project. We will also have the presence of the Minister of the Sea, Ricardo Serrão Santos, and the Minister of Science and Technology, Manuel Heitor. From 5pm, watch live!

The winner of the FLAD Science Award Atlantic 2021 edition was Renato Mendes, researcher at CoLAB +Atlantic, who is developing a project that will significantly increase the knowledge of the Atlantic Ocean in its different dimensions, culminating in the first crossing of an autonomous surface vehicle, entirely sustainable, between Mainland Portugal and the Azores Archipelago.

The award ceremony will take place this Tuesday, October 12, from 5 pm, in the auditorium of FLAD and can be watched live from the social networks of FLAD or on this page.

In addition to the award of the prize and the intervention of the winner, the session also has a debate on the “Science and Technology for the sustainability of the Atlantic”, with the moderation of Teresa Firmino, Science Editor of Publico Newspaper.
