FLAD deeply regrets the death of Diogo Ramado Curto, a prominent figure in contemporary Portuguese historiography. Full Professor at the Department of Political Studies at NOVA FCSH and Researcher at the Portuguese Institute of International Relations.

With a degree in History and a PhD in Historical Sociology, he has built an academic career linked mainly to global history, colonialism, empires and political culture, having also worked on topics such as the history of books, reading and political ideas.

Since 2024, he has accumulated the position of director-general of the National Library of Portugal with academic activity and, in this capacity, collaborated with FLAD in the attribution of the FLAD-BNP Short-Term Research Grants.

To the family and friends of Diogo Ramada Curto, FLAD addresses its deepest regret.
