Applications are now open for Visiting Professor in the Department of Portuguese and Brazilian Studies at Brown University, Rhode Island. The competition, which results from a partnership between FLAD and Brown University, is open for the two semesters of the 2026/2027 academic year, and is intended to select two Portuguese professors or those residing in Portugal, one for each semester.

Those selected will have the opportunity to teach a semester-long course in English in the areas of History or Social Sciences (e.g. Sociology, Anthropology or Political Sciences), addressing contemporary Portugal, which may be extended to Portuguese-speaking societies and/or have an international comparative dimension.
