Rebuilding follows Dusty (Josh O’Connor), owner of a ranch destroyed by a forest fire, and temporarily sheltered at an improvised civil protection (FEMA) camp. He finds some comfort in the relationships he develops with his new neighbors, who have also lost everything, and this enables him to patiently rebuild his life and reestablish contact with his ex-wife and, above all, his young daughter, Callie-Rose (Lily LaTorre). Filmed in the stunning setting of southern Colorado, Rebuilding is an attentive and moving portrait of the capacity for resilience, and the bonds of solidarity which are formed after a dramatic loss. The myth of the American cowboy is placed in direct conflict with the current climate crisis in a contemporary version of the Western.
