From debut filmmaker Oscar Boyson, comes an audacious story of the rite of passage into adulthood, which fearlessly explores the impact of social networks and the American cult of gun ownership on modern adolescence, through an incisive lens full of dark humor. Hoping to impress an activist friend, wealthy New York adolescent, Balthazar (Jaeden Martell), begins to post emotional videos on social media, pleading for stricter gun control laws. His tearful videos attract provocative comments from a follower who claims to be planning a school shooting. Acting on impulse, Balthazar goes to Texas to try to prevent the tragedy, befriending the potential shooter “in real life”. The results, as one would expect, are not what he anticipated.
