This initiative aims to support the production and artistic innovation in Portugal. Applications are open between June 15th and 30th.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In order to recognize the artistic talent in Portugal, but also to support the promising young artists of our country, the Foundation launched this Thursday the first edition of FLAD&#8217;s Drawing Award, which will have an annual periodicity.<\/p>\n<p>The area of artistic production chosen was Drawing, for its important representation in <a href=\"https:\/\/flad.inwebonline.net\/\">FLAD&#8217;s Collection of Contemporary Art<\/a> and for constituting an artistic expression of a very intimate relationship with the art creator.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Award<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The award has a maximum value of twenty thousand euros (\u20ac 20.000,00).<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Candidates profile<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Artists in the area of Drawing.<\/li>\n<li>Portuguese nationality or residents of Portugal for more than 5 years.<\/li>\n<li>28 years old or older at the date of application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Evaluation<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The selected artist will be chosen after an analysis of the applications in two stages:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Phase 1:<\/strong> The submitted applications will be analyzed by the jury that will make a selection of up to 10 finalist artists. The decision will be announced to the candidates <strong>by September 15, 2021. <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Phase 2:<\/strong> From the set of finalist artists, determined in the 1st phase, the international jury will select the winner, which will be announced during the <a href=\"https:\/\/drawingroom.pt\/\"><em>Drawing Room<\/em> Lisbon 2021<\/a>, taking place between <strong>October 27th and 31st of 2021. <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Jury<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The applications will be analyzed by a national and international jury, consisting of personalities of recognized capacity and experience in the artistic area.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Phase 1:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rui Sanches, sculptor and university professor.<\/li>\n<li>M\u00f3nica de Miranda, artist, researcher and founder of the <a href=\"https:\/\/hangar.com.pt\/\">Hangar<\/a> project.<\/li>\n<li>Sandra Vieira J\u00fcrgens, critic, art historian, editor and curator.<\/li>\n<li>Rui Gueif\u00e3o, artist and critic.<\/li>\n<li>Filipa Nunes, cultural manager and curator.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Phase 2: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jorge Martins, artist.<\/li>\n<li>M\u00f3nica \u00c1lvarez Careaga, director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/drawingroom.pt\/\"><em>Drawing Room<\/em> Lisbon.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>FLAD representative to be appointed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Applications<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The deadline for applications runs <strong>from the 15th to the 30th of June of 2021. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applications must be made online by completing a specific form (available on the date of application, June 15th, <a href=\"https:\/\/flad.secure.force.com\/CandidaturaMain?language=en\">here<\/a>) and accompanied by the following documents:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Candidate&#8217;s CV in PDF.<\/li>\n<li>Candidate&#8217;s portfolio (max. 25 pages).
