Learn how to apply down below.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flad.pt\/\">FLAD<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fulbright.pt\/\">Fulbright Portugal <\/a>are long-time partners in supporting study and research in the USA, as well as promoting Portugal as an academic destination for Americans. This relationship, which allows the development of Portugal and the gathering of resources and strengthening of the cultural, academic, and scientific cooperation between the two countries, is now reinforced with the 2nd edition of <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fulbright.pt\/bolsas\/bolsa-fulbright-para-investigacao-com-o-apoio-da-flad\/\">the Fulbright research grant with the support of FLAD.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s <strong>four grants<\/strong> designated to <strong>master&#8217;s students of Portuguese universities that<\/strong> have envisioned in their curriculum, the realization of a <strong>research period at a university or research center in the USA, <\/strong>with a maximum duration of <strong>4 months.<\/strong> Includes <strong>all areas of study, <\/strong>with the funding of <strong>$6.000.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree completed before applying for the grant (average equal to or greater than 14 points, preferably).<\/li>\n<li>Excellent knowledge of English.<\/li>\n<li>Agreement with the project by the North-American institution.<\/li>\n<li>Agreement with the project by the coordination\/direction of the Master&#8217;s or the advisor of the Master&#8217;s project, if it already exists.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Eligibility conditions<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The only candidates who are considered eligible are if:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They have Portuguese nationality.<\/li>\n<li>They have not previously benefited from a Fulbright Program grant.<\/li>\n<li>They have not resided in the USA for a period of 5 years or more, in the 6 years prior to the date of the open call.<\/li>\n<li>They do not have dual nationality, Portuguese and American.<\/li>\n<li>They do not have a <em>green card in<\/em>\u00a0the USA.<\/li>\n<li>Do not have a valid USA visa between the time of the grant open call and the beginning of the USA stay period.<\/li>\n<li>Be a Master&#8217;s student at a Portuguese higher education institution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Support<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Financing of USD $6,000 (six thousand dollars).<\/li>\n<li>Supplementary health and accident insurance during the grant period (ASPE).<\/li>\n<li>Issuance of the necessary documents for the J-1 visa.<\/li>\n<li>Exemption from visa payment.<\/li>\n<li>Guidance before departure to the USA.<\/li>\n<li>Follow-up of the grantee during the stay in the USA by the Fulbright Commission and the <em>Institute of International Education.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Opportunities to participate in seminars and other cultural and scientific activities organized by the Fulbright Program during the stay of the grant holder in the USA, subject to the availability of funds.<\/li>\n<li>Integration into the global network of Fulbright grantees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Applications<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The application period will be open <strong>between the 1st and 28th of January,
