The tour included, among others, visiting a tea plantation, factory, and the numerous lagoons. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>As the primary bridge between Europe and the North Atlantic, the Azores have been central in the relationship between Portugal and the United States.<\/strong> In addition to its cultural and touristic value, students were provided with the tools to understand the strategic value the Azores have as a link that unites both countries. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to such occasions, SiPN also strengthens the cultural and academic exchange between Portugal and the United States, by bringing American students every year to a summer program at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uac.pt\/\">University of the Azores<\/a><strong> focusing on the learning of the Portuguese language and the deepening of the knowledge about Azorean history, literature and culture.
