{"id":114838,"date":"2026-01-15T18:23:03","date_gmt":"2026-01-15T18:23:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.flad.pt\/open-applications-short-term-research-grants-2026\/"},"modified":"2026-02-13T15:06:06","modified_gmt":"2026-02-13T15:06:06","slug":"open-applications-short-term-research-grants-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.flad.pt\/en\/open-applications-short-term-research-grants-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"Open Applications: Short-Term Research Grants 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/4&#8243;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=&#8221;100452&#8243;]<\/p>\n<h3>FLAD launches a new edition of short-term research grants at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flad.pt\/en\/open-applications-flad-research-grants-biblioteca-nacional-2026\/\">National Library of Portugal<\/a>, Torre <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flad.pt\/en\/open-applications-flad-research-grants-torre-do-tombo-2026\/\">do Tombo<\/a> and in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flad.pt\/en\/open-applications-flad-portuguese-archives-research-fellowships-2026\/\">archives and libraries across the country<\/a>, with the aim of supporting the promotion of the Portuguese language and culture in the USA.<\/h3>\n<p>These programs are aimed at students, teachers, and researchers attached to educational or research institutions in the U.S., with a view to providing a productive stay in Portugal and access to research tools needed for the research projects of those selected.<\/p>\n<p>The grants awarded by FLAD in partnership with <a class=\"cursor-init\" href=\"https:\/\/antt.dglab.gov.pt\/\">DGLAB &#8211; Torre do Tombo<\/a> and <a class=\"cursor-init\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bnportugal.gov.pt\/index.php?option=com_content&amp;view=frontpage&amp;Itemid=1&amp;lang=pt\">Biblioteca Nacional de Portugal<\/a> are aimed at researching Portuguese history, culture and languages, and other related topics, based on the collections of both archives.<\/p>\n<p>The FLAD Short-Term Grant were created to reinforce the promotion and accessibility of face-to-face research, extended to archives and libraries throughout the country (mainland Portugal and the Islands).<\/p>\n<p>These grants, lasting up to 3 months, have a value of 1400 euros\/month, with an additional support of 750 euros for travel-related expenses.<\/p>\n<p>We advise you to read the announcement of each competition for more information about the application process, requirements, selection criteria, and deadlines.
