{"id":114414,"date":"2026-01-15T10:27:27","date_gmt":"2026-01-15T10:27:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.flad.pt\/open-applications-flad-research-grants-torre-do-tombo-2026\/"},"modified":"2026-02-27T17:42:03","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T17:42:03","slug":"open-applications-flad-research-grants-torre-do-tombo-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.flad.pt\/en\/open-applications-flad-research-grants-torre-do-tombo-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"Open Applications: FLAD Research Grants &#8211; Torre do Tombo 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>FLAD, in partnership with <a class=\"cursor-init\" href=\"https:\/\/antt.dglab.gov.pt\/\">Dire\u00e7\u00e3o-Geral do Livro, Arquivos e Bibliotecas \u2013 Arquivo Nacional da Torre do Tombo<\/a> (DGLAB-ANTT), launches the 2026 edition of short-term research grants, with the aim of supporting the promotion of the Portuguese language and culture in the USA.<\/h3>\n<p>This program is aimed at students, teachers and researchers from universities and\/or research centers in the United States, who are interested in studying the collections and documentary collections of the National Archive of Torre do Tombo, with a view to developing projects in the field of archival sciences, history, or Portuguese culture and language.<\/p>\n<p>The scholarships must be carried out during the 2026 calendar year, with a start date no later than December 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The planned support is 1,400 euros per month, plus an additional 750 euros to subsidise travel-related costs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Each candidate must include in the application:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Application form, duly completed, available <a href=\"https:\/\/antt.dglab.gov.pt\/bolsas-investigacao-curta-duracao-flad-dglab-antt-2026\/\">here<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li><em>Curriculum vitae<\/em> of the candidate;<\/li>\n<li>Brief biographical note on the candidate;<\/li>\n<li>Description of the study plan and the project it is part of;<\/li>\n<li>A document certifying the affiliation to the University or Institute with which the candidate is associated;<\/li>\n<li>Credentials that support the project and that are of interest for the appraisal of the application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications must be sent in Portuguese by email to <a href=\"mailto:dsieq@dglab.gov.pt\">dsieq@dglab.gov.pt<\/a> <strong>by March 15, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Applications will be evaluated by a jury made up of representatives from Torre do Tombo and FLAD.
