2026: Supporting research in the US"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>Research Grants for Master students, PhD students and junior researchers (with a PhD no longer than 3 years) at Portuguese institutions, for internships in the USA, hopefully equal to or greater than four months. <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>With the aim of contributing to the strengthening of the Portuguese academic and scientific community, FLAD awards scholarships to master&#8217;s students, doctoral students and researchers with doctorates of up to 3 years from Portuguese institutions to develop research internship programs in academic and scientific institutions in the USA.<\/p>\n<p>The internships will have a duration of <strong>equal to or greater than 4 months.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The internships presented for evaluation should focus on innovative scientific or technological subjects, while also contributing to a greater alignment between Portuguese and American institutions in the hope of bolstering the knowledge network shared by the two countries and thus facilitating the creation of institutional partnerships.<\/p>\n<p>FLAD&#8217;s grants provide funding of up to a maximum of <strong>\u20ac1,500\/month.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Applications<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Individual applications will be accepted according to the following requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Portuguese nationality or resident in Portugal;<\/li>\n<li>Master students, PhD students, and junior researchers (with a PhD of no longer than 3 years) at Portuguese institutions of higher education and\/or research centers;<\/li>\n<li>Internship program;<\/li>\n<li>Acceptance letter from the US institution, mentioning the internship period of stay;<\/li>\n<li>Letter of reference from the Portuguese institution to which the applicant is institutionally bound;<\/li>\n<li>Detailed budget of expected costs and the sources of funding applied to finance this internship.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Deadlines \u2013 Calls 2026<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Internships starting between January 1st and June 30th, 2026<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Applications:<\/strong> from May 1st to October 31st, 2025.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Results<\/strong>: until December 31st, 2025.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Internships starting between July 1st and December 31st, 2026:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Applications<\/strong>: from November 1, 2025 to April 30, 2026.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Results<\/strong>: until June 30, 2026.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The application must be submitted by filling out the online form, available <strong><a
