FLAD and Observador launched this Tuesday a special newsletter dedicated to the United States presidential elections, which will take place on November 5th. The special newsletter ‘At\u00e9 \u00e0 Casa Branca’ combines coverage from the the campaign with reporting in the midwest states of the United States. First edition<\/a> in the city of Chicago, dedicated to the crime debate.<\/h3>\n

The election campaign for the United States presidential elections has been unprecedented on many levels. From a former President running again after losing the elections, to the withdrawal of a candidate with enough delegates to secure the nomination, to at least one assassination attempt on a President.<\/p>\n

With the polls closer than ever, and the temperature rising, FLAD partners with the Observador newspaper to support a special newsletter dedicated to the elections. Up to the election, ‘At\u00e9 \u00e0 Casa Branca’ will take the readers on a trip along the famous Route 66 that crosses America, and in each of the newsletters <\/em>a stop will be made in one of the cities of this emblematic American highway to explore a campaign issue, with a more analytical lense, beyond the current political situation.<\/p>\n

This Observador newsletter will be published every week, from September 17 to November 12, and aims to help Portuguese readers follow the campaign, the developments and the issues that will decide this election, and report on the ground, with special attention dedicated to the what the issues are beyond what is the partisan day to day fight.<\/p>\n

On this trip along the emblematic Route 66, Observador journalists will make known a little more about the country and the fundamental issues that society is struggling with, with voices and places that go beyond the usual Washington D.C. and New York.<\/p>\n

The newsletter will also make a balanced curation of the best articles – including reporting, analysis and also opinion – produced by American journalism during this week, and the agenda of the electoral campaign for the week that then begins.
