About the authors:<\/strong><\/p>\n Raquel Vaz Pinto<\/strong> is a researcher at Instituto Portugu\u00eas de Rela\u00e7\u00f5es Internacionais (IPRI) of Universidade Nova and a Visiting Associate Professor at Faculdade de Ci\u00eancias Sociais e Humanas of the same university, where she teaches Asian Studies and the History of International Relations. Pedro Vieira<\/strong> was born in Lisbon in 1975. A graduate of the Escola Superior de Comunica\u00e7\u00e3o Social, he worked as a creative at Canal Q of Produ\u00e7\u00f5es Fict\u00edcias and is now a scriptwriter and anchor of the program O \u00daltimo Apaga a Luz on RTP3. He directed communications at Cinema S\u00e3o Jorge and worked as a consultant, designer, bookseller and handyman. He is a freelance illustrator and made his fiction writing debut with \u00daltima Paragem: Massam\u00e1, which won the P.E.N. Clube Portugu\u00eas Primeira Obra prize. His non-fiction works have been published by Objectiva and the Francisco Manuel dos Santos Foundation, where he teamed up with Raquel Vaz Pinto on the IN Pertinente podcast. \nShe was President of the Portuguese Political Science Association from 2012 to 2016 and a consultant to the Board of Directors of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation from 2020 to 2022. She is the author of several articles and books, including A Grande Muralha e o Legado de Tiananmen, a China e os Direitos Humanos (Tinta-da-China) and Os Portugueses e o Mundo (FFMS). For two seasons he teamed up with Pedro Vieira on the FFMS podcast [IN]Pertinente.
\nShe is currently resident international politics analyst for SIC Not\u00edcias and TSF. The next book, to be published by Tinta-da-china, is about the challenges posed by China to European liberal democracies, including Portugal.<\/p>\n
