Learn how to apply down below.<\/h3>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flad.pt\/\">FLAD<\/a><\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fulbright.pt\/\"><strong>Fulbright Portugal<\/strong><\/a> are long-time partners in supporting study and research in the USA, as well as promoting Portugal as an academic destination for Americans. This relationship, which allows to develop Portugal and gather efforts and strengthen cultural, academic and scientific cooperation between the two countries, is now reinforced <strong>with the 4th edition of the Fulbright scholarship for research with the support of FLAD.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The scholarships are intended for master&#8217;s students from Portuguese universities that have provided for in their training plan, to conduct a period of research at a university or research center in the USA, with a maximum duration of 4 months. It includes all areas of study, with funding of $7,000.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Degree completed before applying for the grant (average equal to or greater than 14 points, preferably).<br \/>\nGood knowledge of English.<br \/>\nAgreement with the project by the North-American institution.<br \/>\nAgreement with the project by the coordination\/direction of the Master&#8217;s or the advisor of the Master&#8217;s project, if it already exists.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility conditions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The only candidates who are considered eligible are if:<\/p>\n<p>They have Portuguese nationality.<br \/>\nThey have not previously benefited from a Fulbright Program grant.<br \/>\nThey have not resided in the USA for a period of 5 years or more, in the 6 years prior to the date of the open call.<br \/>\nThey do not have dual nationality, Portuguese and American.<br \/>\nThey do not have a green card in the U.S.<br \/>\nDo not have a valid USA visa between the time of the grant open call and the beginning of the USA stay period.<br \/>\nBe a Master&#8217;s student at a Portuguese higher education institution.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Support:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Financing of USD $7,000.<br \/>\nSupplementary health and accident insurance during the grant period (ASPE).<br \/>\nIssuance of the necessary documents for the J-1 visa.<br \/>\nExemption from visa payment.<br \/>\nGuidance before departure to the USA.<br \/>\nFollow-up of the grantee during the stay in the USA by the Fulbright Commission and the Institute of International Education.<br \/>\nOpportunities to participate in seminars and other cultural and scientific activities organized by the Fulbright Program during the stay of the grant holder in the USA, subject to the availability of funds.<br \/>\nIntegration into the global network of Fulbright grantees.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Applications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The application period will be open from December 1st 2022 to January 31st 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Applications are submitted online through the Fulbright portal.
