Call Visiting Professor&#8217;s at Georgetown University"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Applications are open for another edition of the Visiting Professor&#8217;s open call at Georgetown University, which will allow a professor in the areas of Political Science and International Relations to teach a chair at one of the most prestigious universities in the world, during the second semester of the academic year 2022\/2023 (January to May 2023).<\/h3>\n<p>This is a partnership between FLAD and Georgetown University, and is open to professors from all areas within Political Science and International Relations.<\/p>\n<p>FLAD decided to extend the possible themes of the chair, failing to restrict &#8211; as happened in past editions &#8211; to proposals of topics related to contemporary Portugal in the context of transatlantic relations and global politics.<\/p>\n<p>The final decision of the chair program will be agreed between <em>Georgetown University and<\/em> the selected candidate.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants should also monitor and collaborate with FLAD&#8217;s work, both at that University and in their relationship with washington-based institutions, <em>including think tanks, foundations<\/em>, other universities and various local contacts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Candidates:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They must have a Doctor&#8217;s degree;<\/li>\n<li>Have published research within his\/hers academic field;<\/li>\n<li>Have teaching experience in English.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Applications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You will need to submit the following documents:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Motivation letter;<\/li>\n<li>CV in Portuguese and in English;<\/li>\n<li>Proposal of the course syllabus in English;<\/li>\n<li>Copy of the PhD certificate;<\/li>\n<li>Two letters of recommendation from professionals within the academic field (research and\/or teaching);<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications must be submitted through the online form available at this link: <a will be considered.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Selection process<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applications will be reviewed by the following selection committee:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rita Faden, President of FLAD;<\/li>\n<li>Nuno Grouper, Professor at George Mason University;<\/li>\n<li>Nuno Severiano Teixeira, Professor at NOVA University of Lisbon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For a better assessment, short-listed applicants will be interviewed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Funding<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>FLAD will assign a scholarship of USD 5,500\/month to the selected candidate;<\/li>\n<li>FLAD also provides expenses
