Set in around the mid-1960s, The Featherweight presents a fascinating chapter in the true story of the Italian-American boxer Willie Pep \u2014 the fighter with the highest number of victories of all time \u2014 who, at 40 something years old, in decline and with his personal life in tatters, decides to return to the ring. At that moment, a documentary film crew starts following him around. A mock documentary by newcomer Robert Kolodny, and the result of meticulous production research, the film is a visceral portrait of dissatisfaction with masculinity, fame and self-image in 20th century America. <\/span><\/p>\n
