U.S. Embassy, FLAD and Georgetown Club Portugal hold conference on “U.S.-EU Collaboration to Defeat ISIS”

U.S. Deputy Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIS, Lt. General (ret) Terry Wolff, as well as former EU Commissioner António Vitorino, will deliver keynote remarks, and then participate in a debate, moderated by RTP’s Vitor Gonçalves

On the occasion of the annual Georgetown Club Portugal meeting, the U.S. Embassy, in collaboration with the Georgetown Club and the Luso-American Development Foundation (FLAD) will hold a conference on “U.S.-EU Collaboration to Defeat ISIS” on May 15 at 12:15pm, at FLAD, Rua do Sacramento à Lapa, nº 21.

Vasco Rato, FLAD President, Herro Mustafa, Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy, and Paula Redondo Pereira, Georgetown Club President, will deliver brief opening remarks.  U.S. Deputy Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIS, Lt. General (ret) Terry Wolff, as well as former EU Commissioner António Vitorino, will deliver keynote remarks, and then participate in a debate, moderated by RTP’s Vitor Gonçalves.

The event will provide an opportunity to highlight the challenges faced by the Global Coalition and EU, recent progress toward degrading ISIS, as well as the need for increased collaborative efforts to defeat ISIS.

At the end of the event, at 1:45pm, our keynote speakers will be available to speak to the press.
