Gaby Marcon was the guest speaker at the 2nd Mentoring WomenWinWin program, an event organized by WomenWinWin with the support of the Luso-American Development Foundation. The event took place on June 19th, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, in FLAD’s auditorium. FLAD Board Member, Jorge Gabriel, closed the session.
The Mentoring Program is aimed at supporting female business owners by enabling planned supervision for a year by a male or female entrepreneur with a higher level of seniority and with proven experience and success. This supervision, made to measure the mentee’s needs, aims at providing a secure space for sharing, reflection, decision-making and action, thus contributing to the mentee’s improvement as an entrepreneur as well as of her confidence.
With over 20 years of experience in Management, Marketing and Public Relations, Gaby Marcon made her career as a corporate mentor and cofounded Shine People and Places. She created and executed several development and mentoring programs for small- and medium-sized businesses. In 2011, she organized the Women 1st Shine Awards. Gaby Marcon is an associate of the Oxford School of Coaching & Mentoring and is a member of the Association for Coaching.
The main topics discussed at this meeting were aimed at answering questions about the importance of a mentor in the development of small and medium-sized businesses: «Why is it important to have a mentor?»; «How does having a mentor help outline and apply goals?»; «How do we gain perspective and vision?»; «How do we establish and widen our network of connections?»; and above all, «How do we make the most of our talents?».
